Two outside probes open into a Montreal officer accused of urinating on homeless people

Quebec's Minister of Internal Security, Guy Lapointe fils, asked the Bureau des enquêtes indépendantes (BEI) and the police ethics commissioner to each investigate the allegation against the SPVM officer, who has been suspended.

“It is clear to me that, in this case, the investigation must be done by an outside entity to preserve public trust.”

Background

Allegations about two officers at Station 21 downtown surfaced on Oct 16, and the SPVM suspended both. The second is accused of posing for photos that appeared to mock a suspect in a humiliating position.
