B.C. voter turnout hits a record low of about 48 per cent

Preliminary results put turnout at about 48 per cent, the lowest recorded since 1928.

Turnout was about 58.5 per cent in 2024 and 53.9 per cent in 2020.

Observers say many voters rejected the reason for the snap vote Premier David Eby called on Sept 22. The NDP got about 274,000 fewer votes than in 2024; the Conservatives got about 49,000 fewer.
