6,600 gold bars

Peel Regional Police have said 6,600 gold bars weighing more than 400 kilograms were stolen from the airport on Apr 17, 2023, after the shipment arrived from Switzerland.

Prosecutors allege Sidhu, then an Air Canada employee, provided a doctored waybill that let another man pick up more than $22 million in gold and currency from a cargo bay.

Background

Chaudhary, sentenced this spring to four years in prison and given 40 years to repay $22 million, said he planned the heist with a man who is still wanted.
