Three roller coasters close in Toronto and Montreal after a deadly fall in Georgia

A 42-year-old man was killed Monday on a roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia; police said he was thrown from his seat and struck other riders before landing below the ride.

Closed in Canada

• Leviathan, Canada's Wonderland
• Behemoth, Canada's Wonderland
• Goliath, La Ronde

Six Flags closed nine similar rides in Canada and the U.S., including two at Canada's Wonderland in Toronto, and La Ronde in Montreal, which Six Flags recently sold, shut a third.

Why it matters

The three Canadian coasters were built by the same manufacturer as the Georgia ride, and Wonderland gave no timeline for reopening its two.

It will not reopen until this review is complete and we are fully satisfied that it can be operated safely.
