Nova Scotia school support workers could strike Monday without a deal

Nova Scotia

CUPE says it will issue a 48-hour strike notice on Friday unless the province meets its demands, which would start a province-wide strike on Monday.

The union wants $3.50 over four years, while it says the province offers just over $1.60 by 2029 for the lowest classifications.

Premier Tim Houston says he is hopeful of a resolution before Friday and that the offer is more than fair. He says the province only has so much money.
