Alberta NDP accuses Premier Danielle Smith of gerrymandering ahead of a new electoral map
NDP Leader Naheed Nenshi says a confidential report on new riding boundaries gerrymanders Lethbridge and northwest Calgary. The report is not public, and its claims could not be verified.

Pre-framing election results
The NDP says the report would split Lethbridge into four ridings that take in surrounding rural areas. Smith says Nenshi is "pre-positioning another election denialism".
What's next
The report is expected to be tabled in the legislature next week. Nenshi says the NDP would challenge the map in court if the legislature passes it, and the next election is set for Oct 18, 2027.
