Unions warn of nationwide job action over Ottawa's labour bill
Background
Bill C-39 would clarify a minister's power to end a strike or lockout in federally regulated industries when the national interest is at stake.
Canadian Labour Congress president Bea Bruske says unions are setting up a “war room” to share resources and legal expertise, and a joint response could mean a day of job actions across the country.
Union leaders say the framework attacks the right to strike. Bruske says she doesn't feel the Liberals are willing to budge on the bill.
