Police investigate arson at the Surrey home of a Sikh activist

Surrey police found a car on fire and a vandalized bus in Surrey Central at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday. They believe a suspect fled on foot and say no motive has been established.

Sikhs For Justice says the attack happened at the home of Narinder Singh Randhawa, who has organized Khalistan rallies. The group says Surrey police warned him in April that his life was under imminent threat.

Background

Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a former leader of the group, was the victim of an attack in Surrey in 2023, which then–prime minister Justin Trudeau linked to India on credible intelligence.
