Walmart Canada launches Sparky, an AI shopping assistant
The chatbot lets shoppers find and compare products and build a shopping list. It arrives more than a year after Walmart rolled it out in the United States.
Andrew Go, Walmart Canada’s vice-president of e-commerce, says Sparky can plan a list around a budget or an occasion, such as a holiday meal.
The price pledge
Walmart’s CEO, John Furner, vowed last month that the assistant will not use personal information such as income or shopping history to set personalized prices or hide lower-priced options.
Loblaw connected its grocery delivery app to ChatGPT in February, a first among grocers.
