New Brunswick man sentenced to life for killing his wife
Roger Crossman, 65, a former correctional officer, pleaded guilty in September to second-degree murder in the 2023 death of his wife, Marlene Crossman, in Sackville. He also pleaded guilty to indignity to human remains.
Years before he can apply for parole
24 years
Judge Maya Hamou gave Crossman life in prison with no chance of parole for 24 years. His lawyer told the court he has stage 4 cancer and only weeks to live.
Prosecutors said Crossman was an abusive husband who had threatened to kill his wife. The judge said the killing and what followed continued years of domination and degradation.
