Second Ottawa teen found guilty in a terrorist plot to kill Jewish people

Ontario Superior Court Justice Kerry McVey found him guilty on Friday of conspiring to commit murder for a terrorist group in late 2023, and of facilitating terrorist activity by trying to obtain a prohibited firearm.

Guilty

Murder plot, firearm

Not guilty

Sharing propaganda

He was acquitted of a third count, sharing instructional material and propaganda, as the judge was not convinced beyond a reasonable doubt that he knew the recipient was planning an attack.

His age at arrest

15 years old

He was 15 when he was arrested in February 2024 and cannot be named because of his age. The Crown says it will seek an adult sentence, and another Ottawa teen has already been found guilty on four charges.

The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs said: "Jewish Canadians should not have to wait for a mass-casualty attack before every tool available is used to confront this threat."
