Three passengers die in a fiery chain-reaction crash involving two Calgary buses
Saddletowne Circle N.E.
Calgary, Alberta
The crash happened just after 1 p.m. MT on Thursday on Saddletowne Circle N.E., in the city's northeast. Three passengers died and 16 people were injured.
Police said a Calgary Transit bus struck several vehicles, then the rear of a second bus running on compressed natural gas. That bus's gas tanks ignited, and the fire caused an explosion inside it.
In the middle of the chaos, one brave Calgary police officer ran into a burning bus to save the life of a child.
