Polls open across British Columbia for municipal elections

Polling stations are open until 8 p.m. local time on Saturday, and anyone in line before closing can still cast a ballot.

On the ballot

  • Mayors and councillors
  • Regional district directors
  • School board trustees
  • Vancouver and Cultus Lake park boards
  • The Islands Trust

Voters choose mayors and councillors, regional district directors, school board trustees, the Vancouver and Cultus Lake park boards and the Islands Trust.

Who can vote

Voters must be 18 or older, Canadian citizens, residents of B.C. for at least six months and residents of the municipality or electoral area.

Eligible voters living on a First Nation reserve can vote, and those without a fixed address can register where they usually live.
