Colleges and Universities Minister Nolan Quinn paused Ontario Student Assistance Program payments to all private post-secondary institutions earlier this month while an audit is under way.
The college offers interest-free payment plans, but many students say they cannot pay without OSAP and asked for more time to weigh their options.
“Evidence of systemic issues that have compromised the integrity of the OSAP system left our government with no choice but to pause OSAP payments to all private institutions,” the minister's office said.

The minister's office says it is working on low-interest, third-party loans for students but has given no timeline, and plans a bill this fall to make online-only programs ineligible for OSAP again.
