Express Entry

From Nov 3, candidates with at least a year of Canadian experience in a high-wage job, or an offer for one, get extra points toward permanent residence, and more pay brings more points.

National median wage, about

57,000 $

A high wage is set at 1.3 times the national median, which the Immigration Department pegs at about $57,000.

The labour-market test for those jobs is temporarily waived, and invitations will pause for up to two weeks while rankings are recalculated, according to reports.
