An Ottawa defence firm will build Ukrainian ground drones in Canada

Dominion Dynamics and Ukrainian robotics company Tencore signed a memorandum of understanding at a defence conference in Washington, D.C., on Oct 13. Production in Canada could start as early as next year.

Termit

The Termit runs on treads like a miniature tank and has been used on Ukraine's front lines for jobs too hazardous for humans, such as resupply and mine-laying. Dominion will install its own software in the vehicles.

Background

Ottawa has pushed Canadian companies to build drones with Ukraine's defence industry, and Prime Minister Mark Carney and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a joint declaration on defence production in Calgary last month.
