Canada Post CEO sees early signs of financial recovery

Canada Post lost $277 million before taxes in the second quarter, down from $407 million a year earlier, as parcel revenue rose and operating costs fell.
Its parcel market share fell from 62 per cent in 2019 to 29 per cent in 2023. It now offers small-business shipping discounts and is testing an online marketplace, Canada Shops.

Canada Post plans to move the remaining door-to-door addresses to community mailboxes within about five years, with about 700,000 more households switched by the end of 2027.
