Lawyer struck from the Bar advised the PQ during the Vachon recount

Pierre-Hugues Miller, under a nine-month suspension from the Quebec Bar, sat as a special adviser to the Parti Québécois at the judicial recount.

The court barred Miller from addressing the judge or the counting tables. He says he never presented himself as a lawyer.

Vachon, step by step

  1. Oct 5

Liberal Affine Lwalalika declared winner by 10 votes

  2. Judicial recount

PQ's Stephan Fogaing wins by three votes

Liberal Affine Lwalalika led by 10 votes on election night, but the judicial recount put the PQ's Stephan Fogaing ahead by three.

What's next

The Liberals are contesting the result and may use Miller's role as an argument.
