Aiden Pleterski, a self-styled crypto king, is found guilty of fraud in Toronto

Prosecutors showed he solicited investors from 2020 to 2022, promising to invest in crypto and foreign exchange, in a fraud of more than $36 million.

He spent the money on luxury cars, private jet trips and lavish vacations, and to repay his own debts. The jury took less than half an hour to reach a unanimous verdict.

The court heard he invested only $304,000, on five exchange platforms, and lost all of it. His next date is Nov 13, to set a sentencing hearing.
